The Rest of the Story

Remember this story?
Well, a couple weeks later, this guy gets sick, loses a lot of weight and starts having seizures. My co-worker took him to the vet, but she couldn't afford to keep treating him, so the Alpine Animal Hospital here in Pullman took him on. By that point he was blind.
They put him on antibiotics and phenobarbital. He responded well to the treatment, and hasn't had a seizure since.
I kept in touch, visited a couple time, and this morning I signed the adoption papers and brought him home.
He's regained his sight and his health. He's still on the phenobarbital, but we'll start weening him off it over the next few weeks. Hopefully he won't have anymore seizures or else he'll be on the stuff indefinitely.

My coworker called him Lincoln because he was assigned to me, the ladies at the vet hospital called him Milo, but I'm thinking about calling him Ares, kitten of war. Venus (my other, and #1, cat) is not too happy at the moment. She hasn't had anything nice to say to anyone all day. I hate upsetting her so much, but I think she'll get used to it. Time will tell.

  1. Ares is growing really fast!!

The same thing happened to "Ramona" when "Moshki" came to home two years a go. But now they are like brother and sister: They are fighting all the time... =S

  2. He is adorable, I'm glad to hear he is getting better. Venus will get used to him after awhile. My other cat Tasha was still alive when Miss Cindi Lou arrived. It took about two weeks before Tasha calmed down and accepted the fact she wasn't an only cat.
